SideOneDummy Records packaged a DiscRevolt download card with eight exclusive songs inside all of the Warped Tour 2007 Compilation CDs sold at particular retail outlets, using the value-add to increase retail sales.

In an effort to be greener and reach more fans while incurring less production costs, the Sounds of the Underground tour opted out of printing tour compilation CDs, in favor of using DiscRevolt download cards instead, distributing tens of thousands on the tour and through retail end caps with Hot Topic.

Fiction Plane, openers on all dates of The Police 2007 Reunion Tour, used a DiscRevolt card to give away free downloads for their radio single, “Two Sisters,” at arenas and stadiums all across North America.

Collective Soul tasked DiscRevolt to create a baseball card-meets-download card to promote their new single “Hollywood” on the band’s summer-long minor league baseball stadium tour with Counting Crows and Live.

Warcon Records act My American Heart took a three-song “pre-release” DiscRevolt card out on tour two months before their new album’s release, giving fans an authorized “leak” of the album, generating fan interest well before its release.

Recent signees Manchester Orchestra used DiscRevolt download cards as samplers for their label, Favorite Gentlemen, while on tour with emo stalwarts Brand New, Saves the Day and Say Anything. Frontman Andy Hull took his solo project release, Right Away, Great Captain, to DiscRevolt using download cards as a way to bring the digital-only release into a live setting.

Purple Door Festival organizers pieced together a compilation sampler on DiscRevolt cards and distributed them at other festivals and shows to promote their own event during the summer.

Unsigned artist Sonia Leigh, strapped for cash after fronting the studio costs for recording her new album, “Run or Surrender”, released it on DiscRevolt download cards, a cost-efficient alternative to pressing CDs.

Up-and-coming folk artist Brett Dennen’s self-titled debut album is out of print. So rather than paying the dollars-per-unit cost required to re-press the CD for his opening slot on John Mayer’s summer tour, Dennen tapped DiscRevolt to print the album in download card version, saving several dollars per unit compared to CDs.

Indepedent road warrior Andy Zipf won DiscRevolt’s SXSW contest and earned a spot to play live in Austin at the Paste Magazine party alongside acts like Badly Drawn Boy and Cold War Kids. Since being turned on to DiscRevolt, the singer-songwriter has vowed “never to press CDs again.”

Mississippi indie rockers Colour Revolt partnered with DiscRevolt to be the exclusive home of the group’s recent live EP. Using download cards for the project gave the band a collectible item to be sold, upping ticket sales on their summer tour.

Forward thinking Nashville singer-songwriter Derek Webb used DiscRevolt cards to bring his digital-only remix album, “One Zero (Remix)”, into a live setting. A proponent of giving away much of his music online for free, Webb is able to draw more concertgoers, thereby increasing his merchandise and music sales at shows.

EMI/Credential Recordings group Edison Glass tapped DiscRevolt for download cards to sell their digital-only Let Go EP at live shows, in advance of their forthcoming album, Time is Fiction, familiarizing their fanbase with the new tracks and generating interest in the new album.
